Can you run Windows on the new Apple M1 based macs? It is possible, but the Apple silicon requires a different Windows designed to run on ARM64 processors - like those used in the Micrsoft Surface Books. Installation is difficult, but we can confirm it runs very quickly and efficiently using Parallels version 17 to emulate the virtual machine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Testing has indicated from beta version through to current version that VPN software does not route all internet traffic upstream to the remote system and in fact Apple apps bypass the VPN mechanism entirely and directly communicate with external servers. What does this mean? For anyone not concerned with privacy, no immediate issue, however this loophole could be exploited to allow malware to transfer out any data stored on your mac to a remote server. Apple have a new iPad Pro 11" out tomorrow. This one has the option of a new keyboard and trackpad case that the iPad connects to easily via magnetic attachment. This could be a real laptop alternative now that it has a decent keyboard option. With a processor that is faster than most laptops and advanced WiFi and bluetooth, this could be the device that really surpasses the MacBook and MacBook Air models and competes head on with the new MacBook Pro 13". Plus it detaches quickly and easily just like an iPad should. There's still a lot of love ❤️out there for this particular Apple Mac. The A1278 13" model ran from 2008 to 2012, but was still being manufactured in the same 2012 specification until around 2016. From a repairers point of view these machines were a dream compared to today's nightmare models that have been given an awful score of 1 out of 10 for repairability by independant right for repair group iFixit. These earlier models could have memory upgrades, hard drive upgrades, easy to replace batteries, trackpads and optical drives, but with more difficulty it was also possible to replace the keyboard and LCD assemblies as well. There's still a lot of love ❤️out there for this particular Apple Mac. The A1278 13" model ran from 2008 to 2012, but was still being manufactured in the same 2012 specification until around 2016. From a repairers point of view these machines were a dream compared to today's nightmare models that have been given an awful score of 1 out of 10 for repairability by independant right for repair group iFixit. These earlier models could have memory upgrades, hard drive upgrades, easy to replace batteries, trackpads and optical drives, but with more difficulty it was also possible to replace the keyboard and LCD assemblies as well.
